The Venue

Our wedding day will take place at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London. Located beside the River Thames in South East London, the venue is a short journey away from Central London and Canary Wharf.Maritime Greenwich is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and is steeped in centuries of history. Living on the opposite side of the river, we have frequented the area many times and would love for you to experience it yourself! Nearby you can straddle the Prime Meridian at the Royal Observatory, stroll around Greenwich Park, sail board the historic Cutty Sark or enjoy the architectural brilliance of the Tulip Staircase at The Queen's House. Evening Shuttle

If you are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Greenwich (see our stay page for more info), a free shuttle bus will run in the evening between 11pm to 1.30am from the venue at the Old Royal Naval College to the Holiday Inn.

Transport

Parking is very limited around the venue, particularly on weekends (more details see 'By Car' below). However, Maritime Greenwich is very well connected to the transport network. The nearest station to the venue is Cutty Sark (for Maritime Greenwich) on the DLR, which is a three minute walk. Greenwich station and Maze Hill station are on the National Rail line and both are around 10 minutes walk away..When using Public Transport around London, it is now possible to use contactless payment cards on all Transport for London (TfL) services and many rail routes within Greater London. Oyster cards are no longer necessary.There are a number of useful websites and apps that you can use getting to/from the venue and travelling around the rest of London. These include:

DLR, Tube and Train services typically run until around midnight. Boat services finish around 9pm. By Car

Please note that there is limited parking in Greenwich, particularly at weekends. Paid car parking is available in Park Row (SE10 9NL) and Cutty Sark Gardens. If you are an overnight guest at the Holiday Inn Express, London Greenwich, you can park at the hotel for £20 per night. The hotel is 10 minutes by taxi / 20 minutes by bus / 25 minutes walk from the venue.Alternatively, you can request taxi/ride hailing app services such as:

By Docklands Light Railway (DLR)

Cutty Sark DLR is a three minute walk away from the Old Royal Naval College. The DLR connects to a number of other transport options at the following stations:

London Underground (Tube): change at Bank to connect to Central, Northern and Waterloo and City lines. You can also change at Bank for Monument station which connects to the District and Circle lines. Canary Wharf connects to the Jubilee line. You can change at Tower Gateway for District and Circle lines from Tower Hill station.
Trains: Stratford, Limehouse, Greenwich and Lewisham connect with the DLR to different train lines which span across London and the surrounding areas.

By London Underground (Tube)

Take the Jubilee Line to Canary Wharf and change to the DLR. You can also take the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich (the O2) and then take either bus 188 or 129 which stop outside the Old Royal Naval College on Romney Road.

By Train

Greenwich Station is only 8 minutes by train from London Bridge. Old Royal Naval College is also a short walk from Maze Hill train station.Mainline rail services run from Cannon Street, London Bridge and Dartford to Greenwich (South Eastern) and twice an hour (once an hour at weekends) from Luton, West Hampstead, Kings Cross St Pancras, Farringdon, Blackfriars and stations from Rainham, Kent (Thameslink).You can also take the DLR from Greenwich Station for one stop to Cutty Sark DLR.

By Boat

Channel that David Beckham-2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony and arrive in style!Take the Uber Boat (riverboat) service along the Thames to Greenwich Pier. Boats leave regularly from Putney, the London Eye, Westminster, Embankment and Tower Piers. Journey time is approximately 45 minutes from Central London. Boats also run between Greenwich Pier and the O2 at North Greenwich Pier.

By Plane

London City Airport is closest airport to the venue, with good connectivity via the DLR. However it serves relatively few long haul flights and is typically very expensive.Heathrow and Gatwick are very well connected by rail services into Central London. From Heathrow you can take the Elizabeth Line direct to Canary Wharf and change to the DLR. From Gatwick you can take the train (Thameslink) to London Bridge and either take the tube (Jubilee line) to Canary Wharf then DLR or take the National Rail to Greenwich.Stansted is an alternative option, from which you can take Stansted Express train to Stratford or Liverpool Street station.
